20110906 : GlobalSign suspends certificate issuance for verification

GlobalSign has suspended digital certificate issuance to audit the integrity of its systems.

As a matter of fact, the hacker responsible for the attack against Comodo resellers in spring has claimed responsability for the DigiNotar hack and said he infiltrated the GlobalSign CA.

GlobalSign takes the threat seriously and has brought its PKI offline to take no chance of fraudulent issuance.

GlobalSign announces they will start bringing services back online on Tuesday 13, September.

The final incident closure report has been published on december 14th, 2011. It concludes that apart from the public website and its SSL certificate, there has been no compromission.
